Born in Edmonton, AB- Since he was a child, Leo always knew he was a story teller (verbally and artistically, lol) with an imaginative brain. Whether he was creating/writing stories, or acting/playing them out, his heart was undoubtedly drawn to the arts. It wasn’t until high school where he discovered his love and passion for dance where he was introduced to the foundations of ballet, jazz, contemporary & hip hop for 3 years. Upon graduating & not being exposed to any representation of the lifestyle he desired, Leo abandoned his love of the arts believing he couldn’t make a career/life for himself & followed suit of his peers by getting a job in the oil & gas industry- where he would learn after 4 years of feeling misaligned & lacking fulfillment that life is much too short to not at least TRY to chase your dreams.

Shortly after, Leo entered a talent search competition (Charles Stuart’s: Faces West) in Vancouver & placed 1st, 2nd, & 1st in 3/5 categories for acting out of 750 competitors. It was here where he was scouted and signed to Characters Talent Agency & made his big move to Vancouver to begin his professional career as an actor & dancer working on productions like Riverdale (recurring, skeleton), iZombie (recurring), A Million Little Things (principle), & more.

Fast forward to present day, Leo has grown tremendously since moving to Vancouver in 2015. He has spent 2 1/2 years travelling to NYC learning from some of the top choreographers (Candace Brown, Keenan Cooks, etc). He is a cast member of the live dance cabaret TEAPARTY (Richie Lubaton/Britt Good/Nate Fadear). He is now represented by Dacosta Talent Agency (a longtime goal of his) where he is able to thrive in his passions for both dance & acting working with Emmy nominated choreographers like Heather Laura Gray, Mandy Moore, Luthor Brown & more.

Leo has also become a passionate dance teacher sharing all that he has & continues to learn working at some of Vancouver’s top drop in studios like Harbour Dance Center & iDance Vancouver where he teaches Beg/Int Hip Hop as well as Open Level Street Jazz classes. He believes helping bring out the best in others brings out the best in you & uses his passion for dance as a medium to do just that.

Leo Thomas is a black/indigenous, queer, multi-faceted artist who has an unwavering desire to learn, create & share. He aspires to inspire all by being an example of what can be achieved in life when you believe in yourself.
